BRIDGE TO STABILITY PROGRAM

Bridge to Stability Pre-employment Program

A program for people in early recovery, seeking a new way of living.

Our experience at Oasis shows that many individuals who have lived with substance abuse issues require more time and effort to deal with the barriers they face. People face challenges to their stability physically (i.e. liver problems…), mentally and emotionally (i.e. anger, anxiety…) and personally (i.e. shelter, legal…) before and after getting “clean & sober” on their own or through treatment, often leaving them in a fragile state.

Our 6-week core program allows individuals the time and resources needed to gain some stability to have a stable foundation on which to rebuild their lives on. By clearly identifying the barriers and challenges faced, we can then formulate a personalized plan of action and help participants successfully transition to their new vision of themselves, based on the goals they choose. This involves developing a new roadmap that considers social, physical, and mental health needs, as well as education and career development.

The Bridge to Stability is designed for individuals in recovery from drug and alcohol addiction who have achieved at least 30 days of abstinence from all mind- and mood-altering substances.

6 Weeks of Life Skills & Pre-Employment Programming (Mon-Thu 10am – 12:30pm)

Learning Activities

Bridge to Stability supports individuals in early recovery as they lay the foundation for lasting change. Through collaborative planning, participants create personalized objectives that foster stability and build the confidence to move forward—without returning to familiar, but harmful behaviours.

This program provides a crucial adjustment period, giving space for the mental fog of addiction to clear and allowing fears to subside. During this time, participants begin to envision their next steps with clarity and purpose. Structured guidance helps them develop skills to view themselves in a more positive light, while learning to design solution-focused plans that acknowledge both personal strengths and barriers.

Learning activities are grouped into four core categories:
– Personal Insight & Development
– Developing & Maintaining Behaviour Change
– Recovery Maintenance & Relapse Prevention
– Open Topic Sharing Sessions

Eligibility:

Individuals in Recovery From Drug and Alcohol Addictions and 30 days free from all mind and mood altering substances.

Individuals of legal working age and not attending full time school or training; must be resident of Ontario and eligible to work in Canada.
